Wasteland Remastered

It’s almost time to get old school post-apocalyptic with Wasteland Remastered

While you’re waiting for Wasteland 3, why not get retrostalgic with Wasteland Remastered and remind yourself where it all began, without all those pesky pixels getting all up in your face.

Developed by Interplay, the original Wasteland came out in 1988 and was the spiritual granddaddy of the Fallout series. Set in 2087, after the devastation wrought by 1998’s global nuclear war, you and your plucky party of Desert Rangers set out to investigate what remains of human civilisation, encountering such things as the Brotherhood of Steel Guardians of the Old Order, deathclaws shadowclaws, and ghouls mutated desert dwellers.

But, you know, it was 1988 and pixels were king; not exactly inviting for a modern audience. That’s why InXile (the studio behind Wasteland 2 and upcoming Wasteland 3) took on the job of developing Wasteland Remastered, a visually upgraded version of the classic RPG, as a way of reviving interest in the franchise.
