It’s called Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge and we don’t know the actual plot, yet, but I imagine it’ll have something to with Scorpion getting revenge for that whole Sub-Zero-murdering-him (and maybe his family?) thing, because he’s still not over it.
Fair enough, Scorpion’s venge-quest has been the basis of his whole character since Mortal Kombat first came out in 1992. Being stuck in the Netherrealm to brood over your own murder makes moving on a little difficult.
Patrick Seitz will be returning to voice Scorpion, after playing him in Mortal Kombat X, and some other characters may sound familiar since they’ve got Joel McHale (Community) to voice Johnny Cage and Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter) to voice Sonya Blade. The rest of the cast includes Steve Blum as Sub-Zero, Artt Butler as Shang Tsung, Darin De Paul as Quan Chi, Robin Atkin Downes as Kano, and David B. Mitchell as Raiden.
You may recall that Mortal Kombat has been animated before as the, child-friendly, Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm series, back in 1996. If you had purged that from your memory, I’m sorry. Let’s hope Warner Bros. isn’t afraid of a little blood.
Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge is set for release some time in June 2020.
