Following Sony’s confirmation that it’s missing the event, Microsoft has confirmed that it’s very much not missing the event, like two exes who decide whether or not to go to a party depending on whether or not the other one is going. Kind of.
Xbox boss Phil Spencer promises on Twitter that “the team is hard at work on E3”, presumably painting some cardboard boxes like Xbox One Series X consoles to make the most of the extra space at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Or whatever.
Our team is hard at work on E3, we look forward to sharing with all who love to play what’s ahead for us. Our artform has consistently been propelled by the cross-section of creativity and technical progress. 2020 is a milestone year in that journey for Team Xbox. #XboxE3 #E32020

With Microsoft’s next-gen console launching this holiday season, fans can probably expect a lot of hype about that, and upcoming Xbox exclusives like Halo Infinite.
