You don’t have to buy either of the upcoming Pokémon Sword and Shield expansions to gain access to all the new pokémon they’ll contain; you just need to have a friend who owns it and zero skaam.
Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra are two expansions coming to Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, both adding new regions to explore and new pokémon for players to imprison. They’re not free, though, with expansion passes for Sword and Shield costing R488.00. So, what’s the poké-trainer on a budget to do when they simply must have that fancy new Legendary Kubfu? Get a friend to grab it for you.
Yup, players that don’t own either expansion will still be able to trade with friends who do and get the new pokémon they desire. This will be possible due to a free update that will launch alongside the expansion’s release, leveling the trading field for everyone. However, your friends probably won’t stay friendly very long if you ask them to gather all the new monsters for you, not unless you up your bribery game.
The Isle of Armor expansion is due for release at the end of June 2020 with the Crown Tundra expansion following some time around September 2020.
