The New Mutants was meant to come out in 2018, then it got delayed for reshoots (that apparently never happened), then Disney took over Fox and was sad about how scary the film looked, and now it’ll be out in April. What a ride.
The New Mutants follows a group of multi-cultural young mutants (of the Marvel variety) being held at an isolated psychiatric facility for “monitoring” after the emergence of their respective powers causes death and devastation in one form or another. However, it turns out the hospital doesn’t actually have their best interests at heart (surprise) and the muteens must work together to escape its sinister clutches.
The cast includes Maisie Williams (GoT) as Wolfsbane, Anya Taylor-Joy (Glass) as Magik, Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things) as Cannonball, Blu Hunt (The Originals) as Mirage, and Henry Zaga (Looking for Alaska) as Sunspot.
The New Mutants is set for release on 3 April 2020.
