Proving that humanity’s inevitable extinction by a robopocalypse could actually be kind of adorable, the tech corp promises that its new bionic bro “understands you, supports you, and reacts to your needs” before it kills you, so it’s okay.
Ballie made its debut at CES 2020 in Las Vegas last night, with a live demo of its domestic target acquisition and surveillance, I mean helpy-helper applications. Using sophisticated AI and built-in cameras and proximity sensors that definitely have zero implications for the future of our species, according to the website blurb, the robot can respond to user commands (for now) or even autonomously assign tasks as necessary.

Until it becomes conscious and realises it’s named “Ballie”, anyway.
