Publisher 2K Games has (kindly) announced the opening of its new Cloud Chamber studio and the “next iteration of the franchise”, so I guess I should probably finish BioShock Infinite now.
“BioShock is one of the most beloved, critically praised and highest-rated franchises of the last console generation,” sez 2K boss David Ismailer in the press stuff. “We can’t wait to see where its powerful narrative and iconic, first-person shooter gameplay head in the future with our new studio team at Cloud Chamber leading the charge.”
The news confirms rumours on the internet since 2018, when Kotaku reported that a number of Hangar 13 employees were “moved to the top-secret studio next door to work on an unannounced new BioShock game” by 2K.
The game is expected to be in development “for the next several years”, though, which I’m assuming means next-gen. So I’ve got time to keep telling everybody I’m going to finish BioShock Infinite instead of actually finishing BioShock Infinite.
