Divinity: Original Sin the Board Game has already well-exceeded its Kickstarter goal and its Chronicle System sounds super interesting for fans of meaningful decisions.
Developed in a partnership between Larian Studios and Lynnvander Studios, Divinity: Original Sin the Board Game is a one-to-four-player, co-op narrative adventure that expands on the story from Divinity: Original Sin II with new quests, stories, items, skills, locations, and monsters. Much like the video games, the board game combat is tactical and your choices will have a meaningful impact on how the story, and the future of the game world, plays out.
Lynnvander Studios has created a new, Legacy-based, playstyle for Divinity called the Chronicle System. Basically, you track your decisions while you play and, once you complete the first core season of the game, you can submit those choices to Lynnvander. They will then use your decisions to shape future game content.
You can only submit this information once per box set, but you can play through the game as many times as you like as there is none of the destruction typical of Legacy games (e.g. Gloomhaven). Your character’s actions are stored on provided Player Sheets. New group of players? New Player Sheets.
Divinity: Original Sin the Board Game has an estimated delivery date of October 2020.
