I apologise in advance for what you are about to see.
You can blame researchers at Telecom Paris for developing this artificial skin (called Skin-On Interfaces), which responds to stroking, pinching, tapping, and… tickling. Apparently, it was created to give robots a synthetic skin, that could respond to touch, and everyone else nightmares.
I do see how this would be groundbreaking for human prosthesis, but what did that poor phone do to deserve this?
It comes in both simple and “ultrarealistic” versions – all horrifying.
