Square Enix has announced Dragon Quest Walk, a new location-based mobile game developed by Colopl, coming to both iOS and Android this year in Japan – they always get the cool stuff.
Industry analyst Serkan Toto has stated that the game is a “shameless clone” of the already hit sensation Pokemon Go. While some may agree, Dragon Quest Walk sticks to its roots with its focus on RPG-style gameplay – players can battle monsters and interact with townsfolk, as well as go on quests. The game also features a lot of customisation options, including room decor with furniture and other items. “Everyday life becomes an adventure,” according to the game’s official site.
Dragon Quest Walk will be going into a beta test on 11 June. However, it seems like this will only involve Japanese players – nani? No release date for other countries but we should expect it quite soon. Get your phone, your power bank, and your adventurer’s spirit ready.
