EA released a demo of their latest Frostbite engine hair physics

Geralt isn’t the prettiest pony anymore thanks to EA’s new hair physics demo

Rise of the Tomb Raider and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt both got a lot of deserved appreciation for their hair physics, but EA has upped its game and is showing off, in this Frostbite engine demo. Pay no attention to the hunched, faceless mannequins; look at that shiny hair!

Nothing ruins your day like bad hair, you’re all set to decimate the zombie horde, but you’ve got no volume and the humidity isn’t doing you any favours, so what’s the point of even trying to survive the zompocalypse? EA understands, and is on a mission to give gamers the hair of their dreams, manifesting these magnificent manes with the help of some creepy-as-fuck mannequins.

I like to pretend they’re robots that have developed an infatuation with their human creator and are now trying to appear more attractive. <DO YOU LOVE ME NOW, BIGM@NN6969?>

The results are certainly impressive, and more realistic than we usually see in-game. Maybe EA is hoping it will distract from that whole BioWare situation.
