Robert Pattinson, who has done a bunch of movies since Twilight so maybe give him a break, is top of the list to play Batman; vying for the cape and cowl against Nicholas Hoult.
Yup, so there’s another Batman movie coming, and it’s apparently a soft reboot, with a detective noir slant, directed by Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, War for the Planet of the Apes). It’s also potentially the same version of the character as played by Ben Affleck, so I don’t know how that works; a prequel? Pretend Dawn of Justice never happened? If it’s yet another origin story, I give up.
What we’re certain of, unless Reeves is lying, is that it is not an adaptation of Batman: Year One. So there’s that.
It’s not much of a stretch to see Pattinson as Batman, since his most famous role was playing a rich guy that broods in the dark. No official news on the villain, but it could potentially be Deathstroke, the Penguin, or the Joker (obvs). Hold thumbs it’s not the Jared Leto version.
The Batman is scheduled for release in June 2021.
