Grumpy Cat, whose real name was Tardar Sauce, passed away Tuesday at age seven from urinary tract infection complications, her owners Tabatha, Bryan and Chrystal Bundesen confirmed on social media this morning.

Her distinctively disgruntled facial expression was the result of a mix of feline dwarfism and an underbite, and her online debut on Reddit in 2012 made her an instant meme-megahit with a generation of cynical millennials entirely fed up with everybody else’s shit.
She will be missed. Not that she cares about that, either.
