Production has started on Free Guy, a movie about a bank teller, played by Ryan Reynolds, who discovers he’s a background character in an open world video game that’s about to go offline. Think Wreck-It Ralph x The Truman Show and prepare for greatness.
Directed by Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum, Stranger Things), this action comedy also features Taika Waititi (What We Do in the Shadows, Thor: Ragnarok), Jodie Comer (Killing Eve), and Joe Keery (Stranger Things), and is the first Fox film to start shooting after the Disney takeover.

Reynolds is pretty much made for this and the rest of the cast give me serious hope that we’ll get a satisfying and hilarious representation of what we all love. Honestly, I’ll watch it even if it isn’t because Ryan Reynolds AND Taika Waititi are in it, and Green Lantern never even happened.
Free Guy should be in cinemas by July 2020.
