Anonymous rich person buys private island to host real-life battle royale contest and I think I’ve seen this movie

If you’re not buying an island, on which you plan to host a real-life battle royale contest, are you even rich?

According to IGN, someone over at Hush Hush, a luxury shopping marketplace for ridiculously fancy people, wants to hire a game maker to design a three-day, 100 person, battle royale contest. No, you don’t get to actually murder people, this isn’t that fake Russian Hunger Games, but rather the contestants will be using airsoft guns and touch-sensitive armour to track their “kills”.

The contest is in the early days of planning, but, so far, we know it’s meant to take place over three days, with 12 competition hours a day, allowing contestants to camp at night (gank-free), with all food, hydration, and gear supplied. After three days, the last person standing wins £100,000 (over R1.8 million).

It’ll probably just be a bunch of similarly rich people, and Instainfluencers, pronking about the island, artisanal G&T in one hand, rifle in the other, like Fyre Festival should have been, but that just makes me want to take part even more.

This would also be a pretty great cover for an assassination attempt, just sayin’.
