Ooooops, somebody at Gearbox is in trubbles. Ahead of an expected announcement sometime later today, a series of posts from the game’s Twitter account have accidentally confirmed the Borderlands 3 launch date, Epic Games Store exclusivity, and special editions, and weren’t scrubbed fast enough. THE INTERNET REMEMBERS.
Through a now deleted tweet, Borderlands 3 release date is September 13th https://t.co/BMX7q1kXbghttps://t.co/uqRYyRwAND pic.twitter.com/wJ7wC3Tkkw

That was on 1 April, prompting inevitable speculation that it was a joke because… 13 September? GET IT? It’s a totally plausible launch date, it’s even a Friday, you guys, and most games launch on Fridays. That’s the joke. Omglol. So it’s probably not a joke.
And besides, there’s more. This ad for the game also confirms the same launch date, and…
a leaked Borderlands 3 YouTube ad also shows that the game is on Epic Games Store, no Steam logo shown. And confirms again Sept 13th release date https://t.co/car2PT0Gob pic.twitter.com/lYshH47vUZ

Uh-oh.
And before the plumber got in to fix the tubes, box art for the game’s regular, Deluxe, and Super Deluxe Editions also dribbled out, plus a promo for the Borderlands 3 Diamond Loot Chest Collector’s Edition extras. Psycho messiah? I’m into it.
So much for surprises.
How do you do, fellow gamers? This sure looks neat! Guess we all better tune in tomorrow at 6:00 a.m. PT to find out if it’s real… pic.twitter.com/36kuV4xojN
