I shouldn’t have to be telling you this, but please don’t change your birth year on Twitter to 2007. I mean, unless that’s your actual birth year, then go right ahead; we’ll see you when you turn 13… maybe.
A viral Twitter hoax has been doing the rounds, this time promising you pretty colours in your feed if you change your birth date to 2007. Apparently, the promise of rainbows was enough for some people to do so, locking down their accounts in the process. Those of us who can maths see where this is going.
damn changing your birth year to 2007 makes your twitter feed all colourful we been missin out

I mean, with that kind of charisma, who could resist giving it a try. You’re better than this, people.
If you change your birth year to 2007, you become under 13 years of age and your account get insta-locked by Twitter actually enforcing its age restriction rules. After all, it’s this kind of high-tech security measure that’s really foxing the crime.
We’ve noticed a prank trying to get people to change their Twitter birthday in their profile to 2007 to unlock new color schemes. Please don’t do this. You’ll get locked out for being under 13 years old.

It’s unclear how many people actually fell for this, but plenty have taken it as a chance to complain about being locked out, despite being currently over 13, since the initial wave of age-related account locking last year.
Shame.
