World of Tanks: Mercenaries is a free-to-play online multiplayer game in which all the world’s problems can be solved with tanks and, for a limited time, Mechs. Core Breach is a new game mode, only available until 4 February 2019, that lets you commandeer one of two Mechs and beat the bejeezus out of your friends. Also they explode when they go down. Core Breach Mode is a 4 vs 4 team destruction battle. These battles last eight minutes and victory goes to whichever team massacred the most Mechs. In the case of a tie, the team that did the most damage wins. The Mechs respawn so it’s not like you get taken out and then sit around for the rest of the match. If your Mech is destroyed, your pilot will eject and be able to play again after 15 seconds. However, a Mech’s destruction also triggers a core breach explosion, levelling city blocks and destroying any Mechs within the zone of death.
To play, just select Core Breach from the main menu and choose your Mech. You get a choice between the US Iron Solider and the USSR Comrade. The US Iron Soldier is heavier and slower, but with better longevity than the USSR Comrade which is smaller and faster.
World of Tanks: Mercenaries is free-to-play on PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Just remember that Core Breach only lasts until 4 February.
