The thousand years of January’s post-holiday season empty bank account are almost over, it’s payday, and the debit orders are about to empty your bank account anyway. To make up for this, though, Xbox has curated its monthly list of free stuff in nostalgic commemoration of a happier, less complicated past. Like Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon, a retro homage to those nights you stayed up playing NES instead of doing homework because responsibilities were for grownups. And Assassin’s Creed Rogue, an intriguing documentary about mid-1700s Europe, a pre-consequence era when you could literally get away with murder by jumping into a bush. O tempore, o mores.
As per regularly scheduled programming, the next compilation of Xbox Live Games with Gold is available exclusively for Gold subscribers, and for a limited time, and features two Xbox One games and two Xbox 360 games that are also backwards compatible on Xbox One.
