I bet that there aren’t many amongst us who can’t look back into our younger days and remember a Sony hardware product that made us happy. For me, it’s my PS2 because wow was that thing cool. Now, it seems, Sony wants us to know that what’s inside matters, too!
And by inside, I mean inside the machine. The games. That’s right, under its shiny new CEO, Kenichiro Yoshida, Sony is set to shift its focus away from all the cool hardware and focus on all the cool software – which is great news for gamers. The company is introducing a new three-year plan, according to MyBroadband, with a new emphasis on profits from gaming subscriptions and other entertainment, noting that Chinese manufacturing has made the hardware game lean on revenue.
But what about the PlayStation 5, you ask? Well, there’s still no official launch date for Sony’s next-next-next-gen console yet but speculation on the internet has it scheduled sometime before 2020.
