Ryan Reynolds and the Deadpool writers are working on a Netflix movie

… with Michael Bay. It’s not a new Transformers movie, though, so that’s something. Maybe.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Deadpool anti-star is teaming up with co-writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, and explosion porn director Michael Bay for Six Underground, a new Netflix movie about “six billionaires who fake their own deaths and form an elite team to take down bad guys”. Not much else is known about the project for the moment, but we can probably assume it’s got dick jokes.

Netflix’s catalogue of original movies is kind of inconsistent, from the quirky anti-capitalist agitprop of Okja to the absolutely dismal Bright and Cloverfield Paradox, so this one could be anywhere in between. I mean, Ryan Reynolds and the Deadpool guys? X-FORCE! Michael Bay? Not so much X-Force. It’s expected to release in 2019, so I guess we’ll find out then whether or not it lands safely.
