WHAT IS THIS HERETICAL ABOMINATION? THIS IS NOT THE THUNDERCATS. MY CHILDHOOD HAS BEEN COMPLETELY EXTERMINATED. RANT.
… But it’s so cute, omg.
Cartoon Network has announced ThunderCats Roar, an all-new, all-adorable revamp of the 80s show that’s probably (definitely) entirely responsible for furries. According to Entertainment Weekly, the new show will “stay true to the original’s premise” of refugee alien catpeople who crash-land on Third Earth, and must subvert the evil plots of local tyrant and Egyptophile Mumm-Ra the Ever-Living. It’s scheduled to start sometime in 2019.
Not unexpectedly, perhaps, the makeover has been somewhat controversial with people who don’t remember how campy and ridiculous the show actually was, or that it was basically created to sell toys to kids.
*FLIPS TABLE*
