Anyone still mining crafts and crafting mines on legacy hardware is in for some relatively sour news: Microsoft has announced that the next big update for Minecraft will be the last one for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and Wii U versions of the game.
NEWS SPLASH: Update Aquatic WILL be coming to older platforms, including Playstation 3, Wii U and Xbox 360! More details here:https://t.co/hLjDkSiMLV pic.twitter.com/seCkaFSZzC

The reasoning is that those older consoles make up less than 5% of the player base, according to Microsoft. From now on resources will be directed towards the platforms where the majority of players are active. Which is fair enough, even if it’s a bit of a kick in the pants for those guys.
The content included in the Update Aquatic – surely a Wes Anderson-inspired title – will be part of the Bedrock Engine version of Minecraft on supported platforms, coming to Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, mobile, and Windows 10 first, and PlayStation 4 and older consoles sometime after.
