Video game morality is a murky, ambiguous thing, isn’t it? In a lot of games, you’re basically a serial killer but it’s okay because… because. You know, because. And XP. At least in Dishonored, you’re an assassin so all this gratuitous violence kind of makes sense, but let’s not forget that those other guys have families. Dreams. Plans for dinner. And now, let’s murder them.
In this new Dishonored 2 trailer, protagonists Corvo and Emily show us how it’s done, not just with pitiless sadism, but also a bit of razzle-dazzle glamour. When Henchie Henchmannion doesn’t come home tonight, at least his sobbing widow will be able to tell their seven kids that it’s okay, Daddy’s death was absolutely spectacular.
