Oh man, it feels like only yesterday. And it was, because Steam has just added a whole heap of classic Sierra adventure games to its catalogue, but also because just looking at screenshots of these games can instantly transform me into a 10-year old all over again. I learned to type playing the first King’s Quest. I learned the word “glean” from Space Quest 3. I learned everything I know about vampire rabbits in Quest for Glory 4.
Aaaaand I’ve just bought those three games and all the others on the Humble Sierra Bundle, even though I own original disc copies of most of them, because I’m a 10-year old and I have no impulse control.
The Humble Sierra Bundle includes:
For $1 or more
- Space Quest Collection
- Phantasmagoria 1 and 2
- Police Quest Collection
- Shiftlings
For more than the average (about $12.50 or so, at publish time)
- Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura
- TimeShift
- Quest for Glory Collection
- Gabriel Knight 1-3
For $15 or more
- Caesar 3 and 4
- Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved
- King’s Quest Classic Collection
- Velocity 2X
For $20 or more
- King’s Quest: The Complete Collection
But seriously, it’s worth it just for the Quest for Glory and Space Quest anthologies, and $20 for the King’s Quest reboot isn’t a bad deal either. Go get ’em.
