The world might’ve moved on, but the trains are still on time. That’s your job now. I mean, it’s probably not exactly what you’d expected to be doing at the end of everything, but it’s honest work and the hours are okay.
The Final Station by tinyBuild is a 2D, side-scrolling railroad-’em-up, in which you travel a post-apocalyptic wasteland, picking up passengers and looting for supplies at the stations on the way. Which are, obviously, also crammed with zombies. What? It’s a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Zombies are in the rules.
According to the blurb on the developer’s website, the game’s features include:
- A post-apocalyptic survival game in a similar vein to “This War of Mine”
- Survive for as long as you can by riding the rails, and finding fuel along the way
- Infected are ready to stop your progress whenever you exit the train to look for supplies
- Pick up survivors along the way, gaining perks (and hindrances) for your troubles
It’s out on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on 30 August.
