We’ve all heard about it. For the last decade, fans have been waiting patiently for it, and like some mythical beast or urban legend, some fans claimed to know a guy who knows a guy who has seen screenshots of it. Heck, I even met a guy once, back when I was in college, who claimed that they were selling it at the games shop in the Randburg Waterfront — he was a bit crazy.
Apparently, in a panel at the recent Music and Videogames festival in Virginia, Duke Nukem’s current voice actor, Jon St. John let slip a wee hint indicating that the mythical creature known as Duke Nukem Forever might in fact exist, and we may get to see it before… well, before forever. What he said, in response to a fan, was that he was “not allowed to talk about it”, but that fans should “not be disappointed” because they need to “read between the lines: Why am I not allowed to talk about it?”
So there may be some hope there. Personally though, after this whole debacle, I will only believe that this thing is real when I’m actually sitting in front of my TV playing a copy.
